This renovation took place in a two-room apartment located in a building from the ’50 in Turin. The design strategy had to deal with the limited budget and the condominium restrictions, which meant the intervention had to be developed by focusing on specific areas of the apartment at the time.

The first focus was the entrance: the old and restrictive hallway was replaced by an open passage which softens the entrance and masks the way into the bedroom with an equipped wall that hides the rectangular door frame. The dinning space was the second focus of the project: by creating a few inches high platform, we chose to place the kitchen area on a higher plateau. This gave a functional space division without using any walls to separate the eating area from the rest of the living space.

The building materials were chosen to highlight the unique style of the project.
