While the real estate market is shifting toward smaller, more flexible spaces, a new demand is emerging: that of “age-friendly” housing designed for people over 65 who are looking not just for assistance, but for autonomy, safety, and social connections. It’s the era of #seniorliving, where the home once again becomes a place for life and community, not isolation. The new building for the institutional events of the Port Authority of Ravenna becomes a landmark of the dock, a symbolic bridge between the city and the port. Set within the post-industrial landscape, it dialogues with silos and warehouses, absorbing existing urban flows and generating new ones. Two public axes intersect the volume, organizing the foyer, offices, café and auditorium. An exposed concrete skin unifies the functions and evokes the port’s identity, reinterpreting the existing Port Authority headquarters in a contemporary key. . . .
