Il progetto si \u00e8 proposto di recuperare alcuni elementi superstiti dello stato originale, valorizzandoli in modo tale da conciliare il difficile rapporto tra le funzioni dell\u2019abitare contemporaneo e la preesistenza storica. La grande volta strutturale di 5,5m x 8,5m \u00e8 stata completamente liberata da una serie di controsoffittature stratificatesi nel tempo, lasciando a vista alcune parti affrescate.<br\/>La zona giorno e la zona notte sono separate da un semplice tramezzo traslucido in policarbonato che permettere di leggere in un colpo solo tutto il volume chiuso dell\u2019appartamento.   The door frames are aligned according to the home\u2019s original layout, emphasizing its historic, stately character, with rooms flowing seamlessly into one another without the use of hallways. Tutte le funzioni di servizio sono state collocate in un volume funzionale, ribassato rispetto all\u2019imposta della volta. Esso contiene l\u2019ingresso all\u2019abitazione, il bagno, la cucina e la cabina armadio.<br\/>Il volume di servizio si presenta come un volume bianco, puro, in antitesi con l\u2019opulenza e la vivacit\u00e0 dell\u2019affresco a soffitto.   The old and the new thus interact through contrast; each element reflects the era and the client to whom it belongs.
