In the heart of late nineteenth-century Turin, just a few steps from Piazza Vittorio Veneto, history and contemporaneity intertwine in a measured and respectful balance. The project originated from the merger of two adjacent units, with the aim of preserving and enhancing the building\u2019s original features while integrating contemporary materials and design solutions. The result is a harmonious dialogue between historical memory and a contemporary architectural language. The spacious living area unfolds over a chevron-pattern parquet floor, above which the original timber ceiling, dating back to the early nineteenth century, appears to float. The arrangement of the furnishings defines the different areas without interrupting visual continuity, allowing the perception of the space to flow freely.<\/p>\r\n

A central feature of the intervention is the Carrara marble peninsula, which passes through the apartment\u2019s load-bearing wall, creating a connection between the kitchen and dining area. This architectural gesture establishes both a visual and functional dialogue between the two spaces, becoming the defining element of the project. On one side, the living area preserves the character and language of the building\u2019s history; on the other, the kitchen introduces contemporary materials, colors, and detailing. The peninsula thus becomes not only an element of spatial connection, but also a symbol of the encounter between memory and contemporaneity.<\/p>\r\n
