Bligny

Located in the heart of Turin’s historic Roman Quadrilateral, the apartment of a painter occupies the piano nobile of the historic Palazzo Ricardi di Netro. Within a highly fragmented layout, the architectural intervention brings order to the ensemble of spaces through the insertion of a device that houses a series of supporting functions. The renovation revealed a large vaulted space, beneath which the dining room was located. The house has no hallways; the transition from one room to another is seamless, interrupted only by a polycarbonate structure that openly expresses its contemporary character. Through the interplay of light, the structure guides visitors from the entrance towards the heart of the home. Several sliding doors provide access to the more private areas, while adjacent to the bedroom, the structure accommodates the private bathroom and walk-in closet.
