The spaces that housed a shop until 2002 have been transformed into a residence and professional studio for a young professional from Turin.
The narrow, elongated volume of the property and its height were exploited to conceive an architecture designed in section, introducing a mezzanine that creates a duplex. From a functional point of view, the lower level accommodates the living and working areas, as well as the kitchen and main bathroom, while the mezzanine houses the sleeping area and an additional work/study space overlooking the double-height living room. The theme of multifunctionality was addressed with the aim of concealing spaces that are incompatible with the working environment, such as the kitchen and bedroom, through curtains that shape the space while allowing its function to be changed quickly and easily.
La necessità di sfruttare al meglio la luce naturale ha portato a dipingere tutte le pareti di bianco e ad aprire due grosse finestre sui lati corti dell’alloggio/studio.
