Spazio Mando

Spazio Mando offers a contemporary reinterpretation of a Turin apartment from the 1970s, a period when great importance was placed on the entryway and rooms were divided according to functional criteria. The design approach seeks to break down this layout, creating a fluid, continuous space that opens up views toward the large windows and natural light. The entryway is no longer viewed as a room enclosed by four walls; instead, it welcomes visitors and guides them into the living space, which is full of energy and unexpected colors. To convey this concept, it was necessary to break away from the linear layout and the neutral tones of the home, giving it a strong expressive power with sharp lines and bold colors. The living area features a large open space that includes the dining room and living room, both opening onto the terrace. The built-in furniture serves as a large, multifunctional piece: the wooden bookshelf in the entryway flows into a custom-made sofa that creates an intimate and cozy space. The kitchen is built-in, featuring a contemporary take on the kitchenette, with a glass panel on one side to create a more open feel toward the living room. The bedroom, accessed through a sliding door built into the entrance area, takes the place of the dining room facing the inner courtyard. The old kitchenette has been transformed into a small home office for working from home.
